You are applying for a “second degree program” (Zweitstudium) if you have already successfully completed an undergraduate degree program (e.g. Bachelor's degree) at a German university and would like to follow up with a second Bachelor's degree program with a limited number of places. A postgraduate program, especially with the intended degree of “Master," is not considered a second degree in this sense.
2% of the study places in degree programs with a limited number of places are awarded to applicants who are applying for a second degree.
There is no separate second degree quota for Master's degree programs with limited numbers of places, but tuition fees are also charged for a second degree, as well as for degree programs with an unlimited number of places.
Up to three applications for admission to a degree program at the University of Hohenheim can be submitted. However, anyone applying for a second degree program may only submit one application for admission!
The online application is similar to an application for a first degree program. Relevant information regarding the second degree program will be requested in the application process and supporting documents can be uploaded as files.
You must upload the following documents:
- Degree certificate from the first degree program with the average grade
- Detailed justification for the second degree program (only required when applying for a Bachelor's degree program)
Tuition fees are charged for a second degree program in Baden-Württemberg.
