To apply for the Master’s program in Molecular Nutrition, simply check the admission requirements and then upload your documents online through the HohCampus application portal by the application deadline. Apply online via the HohCampus application portal for the Master’s degree program in Molecular Nutrition and upload the application documents in the application portal. There you can also check the status of your application at any time.

Admission requirements

Bachelor’s degree from a German or foreign university with at least 180 ECTS or at least a 3-year standard period of study

According to the admission statutes, § 4(1c), the following degree programs are recognized

Nutritional Science(s)
Nutritional Management and Dietetics, and
Clinical Nutrition

In addition, degree program such as

Nutritional and Food Science
Nutrition and Catering Management
Food, Nutrition, Hygiene
Ecotrophology
Biochemistry
Human Biology
Medical Biology and
Molecular Medicine

can also be recognized by the selection committee if the following minimum academic requirements are fulfilled:

Proof that achievements totaling at least 30 ECTS credits have been acquired in the basic science subjects of biology, chemistry, mathematics/statistics, and physics.
In addition, proof that achievements amounting to a total of at least 30 ECTS credits in total from nutritional science subjects (nutrition science, food science, nutrition physiology, human nutrition, clinical nutrition, nutrition epidemiology, nutrition psychology, quality management) as well as biological-medical basic subjects (anatomy, biochemistry, immunology, microbiology and physiology) have been acquired.
Possibilities for making up missing credits: If ECTS credits are missing from the number of ECTS credits from basic natural science subjects or from the sum of basic biological medical subjects and nutritional science subjects, up to 12 missing ECTS points can be compensated for, provided that in the other area, in addition to the required 30 ECTS credits, there are twice as many ECTS credits earned as ECTS credits missing.

Yes, that is possible.

To apply for more than one Master’s program, fill out an online application for each and confirm them with the button “Submit application.”

No. Every application will be equally considered. It is not important how many applications you have submitted or for which programs you have applied.

In the following you will find a list of the different admission status notifications and their meaning:

Online application in preparation	Your application is not finished. Please click on “Submit request” to submit the application.
Online application submitted	Thank you for your application. We have received your application and it is currently being processed.
Application is being processed	Your application is currently being processed.
Application will be considered	Your application fulfills the based requirements and will therefore take part in the procedure for allocating places in the degree program.
Application will currently not be considered	Unfortunately, your application cannot be considered in the university places allocation procedure. You have received a message through this application portal stating the reasons for this.
Application will not be considered	Unfortunately, your application cannot be considered in the university places allocation procedure because it does not fulfill the necessary requirements or you have not submitted the required documents. You can no longer submit any documents.
Admission has been granted	Congratulations, you are being offered a spot in the program! If you would like to accept the admission offer, you need to confirm that with the corresponding button. Then you will need to go through the online enrollment process.
Admitted	If you want to accept the university place, you have to apply online for enrollment.
Admission currently not possible	Your application has been considered in the university place allocation procedure. Unfortunately, you have not been granted an admission. Your application will automatically be considered in the succession procedure; if you are granted admission in this procedure, you will be notified.
Enrollment requested	You have entered the necessary data online and now you need to send documents to the University of Hohenheim.
Enrollment is being processed	Enrollment documents have been received and are currently being processed. We will contact you if there are missing documents.
Enrolled	Enrollment has been completed. You are now a student of the University of Hohenheim. You will receive your student ID and all necessary information within the next few days.

The letters of admission / rejection for the main admission procedure will be sent out around mid-July. The results of the allocation procedure will already be available in the application portal a few days before you will receive the letter.

Furthermore, letters of admission through the succession procedure may arrive until October.

Yes. If you are applying even though you have not yet completed your first degree, you have to submit a current transcript of records instead of a degree certificate. The current average grade indicated in the transcript of records will be taken into consideration for the application process.

If your application has been successful, you will be granted probationary admission: The completion of the Bachelor’s degree has to be proven by 31 December of the year for which admission has been granted. If the required proof cannot be submitted by then, the probationary admission will be revoked and the study place has to be given up. It is possible to apply again in the following year.

No. Recognition will take place only during the application procedure: All received application documents will be examined according to the fulfillment of the formal and subject specific requirements.

In cases of doubt please state that the criterion is fulfilled and submit the relevant proof. When your documents are reviewed, the entry will be corrected if necessary.

No. It is fine if not all subject areas are filled in. To participate in the selection procedure, however, at least as many modules with corresponding ECTS credits must be entered as is necessary to meet the minimum admission requirements (see the "Requirements" tab).

If the module covers several of the subjects named (e.g. “Nutritional Physiology”), you can decide yourself in which subject area you would like to enter the module. Feel free to choose the subject area in which you still need points.

Modules which cannot be matched with one of the listed subject areas are not relevant for the selection procedure and can be left out.

If the content is not clear from the name of the module (e.g., “Basics of Nutritional and Domestic Sciences” but chemistry and biology were also covered), please make sure to include a module description. This way, the selection committee can see that you have acquired the relevant knowledge.
